EAST LIVERPOOL, Ohio — Mary C. “Sweet” Sullivan Mays, 91, previously of Fenton Street, handed away Sunday, April 23, 2023 at 11:30 p.m. on the Calcutta Health Care Center following a prolonged sickness.

Born May 12, 1931 at East Liverpool, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late Thomas and Loretta McCombs Sullivan.

She was a member of the East Liverpool Citadel of the Salvation Army. She was an avid bowler and beloved sports activities. She beloved the Pittsburgh Steelers. She additionally loved cooking and baking, spending time along with her household and she or he actually beloved being a Sullivan.

She was preceded in dying by her husband, Kenneth C. Mays, whom she married July 21, 1949, on June 18, 2008.

Survivors embody two daughters, Kathy Morehead of East Liverpool and Crystal Van Rooyen of Roseburg, Oregon.

There are six grandchildren, Jimmy and Jen Morehead, Ryan and Jen Morehead, Shannon Mason, Cory Mason, Ryan Gbur and Rachel and John Briscoe; and 16 great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

In addition, she additionally leaves behind one sister, Jean Traina and her husband, John of Wellsville, Ohio; one brother, Robert Sullivan of Wellsville; and her son-in-law, Steve Smalley of Chester, West Virginia.

Besides her mother and father and her husband, she was additionally preceded in dying by one daughter, Vivian Smalley; one son, Keith Mays; 4 sisters, Carrie Meredith, Loretta Smith, Helen Coburn and Dorothy McKnight; and 5 brothers, George Mitcheson, John Sullivan, Thomas Sullivan, William Sullivan and Raymond “Chink” Sullivan; and her son-in-law, James Morehead.

According to Mary’s needs there will probably be no public visitation or service. A non-public graveside service will probably be held at a later date.
