Michelin-Starred Al’s Place Will Soon Become an Indian Dosa Spot

The much-loved, Michelin-starred AL’s Place on Valencia Street is reopening as an Indian dosa restaurant. 

Dosa Corner Indian Cuisine will open June 1, based on the eatery’s Yelp page. The new spot will serve alcohol in addition to the skinny pancakes which are a trademark of South Indian delicacies. 

Chef Aaron London closed down AL’s Place in 2022, after seven years in enterprise. The Mission vacation spot garnered a “best new restaurant in the country” nod from Bon Appetit the 12 months it opened and went on to grow to be a foodie scorching spot.

Dosa Corner will be a part of an increasing array of Indian delicacies within the Mission. Aaha Indian Cuisine opened in 2022 on seventeenth Street, and each Udupi Palace and Aditi on Valencia Street have been serving up dosas for years. 

Other Indian eating places within the neighborhood embody Deccan House and Birani House, each on Valencia Street. 

The assortment of choices provides Mission residents a half-dozen plus choices for Indian delicacies—and there’s additionally a nearby Indian grocery store on twenty second Street.
