FRANKFORT, Ky. (WXIX) – Mobile sports activities betting received’t be up and operating in time for the beginning of the faculty soccer and NFL season.

Kentucky bettors should wait till 6 a.m. Sept. 28 to have the ability to place wagers by the telephones, Gov. Andy Beshear introduced Thursday.

The NFL season begins on Sept. 7 and Week Zero of school soccer is Aug. 26.

While cellular betting received’t be prepared for NFL’s opening sport, in-person betting will start the identical day on Sept. 7 at 10 a.m.

“The countdown is on. We are just three weeks away from sports wagering in Kentucky,” stated Gov. Beshear. “We are ready to deliver the quality entertainment experience Kentuckians asked for, while bringing money to the state to support pensions and free up funds that can be used to build a better Kentucky.”

Kentuckians wanting to put sports activities bets by their telephone can pre-register an account with authorized cellular functions beginning at 6 a.m. on Aug. 28, the governor stated.

Allowing pre-registration eases strains on digital techniques that may typically occur when many individuals attempt to register directly, Gov. Beshear defined.

Then, on Sept. 7, bettors can deposit funds into their pre-registered account with authorized cellular functions.

A listing of authorized retail services and cellular functions will likely be launched on Aug. 22, following the Kentucky Horse Racing Commission (KHRC) assembly, in keeping with Gov. Beshear.
