An encounter had started at the Wanigam Bala area of Baramulla district. Police and security forces are on the job. Joint Security Forces uses minimum ammunition to protect a mosque near the encounter site at Wanigam Bala area of North Kashmir’s Baramulla district. “Bulletproof vehicles were placed in front of the Mosque to minimise the chances of damage. In addition, no major ammunition like IEDs, MGLs were used. The operation was launched jointly by Baramulla police and 29RR,” informed Indian Army. Early morning one terrorist was also killed in the encounter.

Spain registers monkeypox death

In its latest report on the virus, Spain’s Health Ministry said 120 people had been admitted to the hospital so far with monkeypox and one had died. Blinken off to Asia, Africa

Secretary of State Antony Blinken is headed to Asia and Africa, the State Department said Friday, as the US and rivals China and Russia intensify their battle for global influence amid deepening divisions over Taiwan and Russia’s war in Ukraine. Encounter breaks out between security forces, militants in J-K’s Baramulla

The security forces launched a cordon and search operation at Wanigam Bala in the Kreeri area of the district following information about the presence of militants there, a police official said. He said the search operation turned into an encounter after the militants opened firing on the security forces, who retaliated.
