Opposition leader in the legislative council Pravin Darekar said this is the first time that questions are being raised through the media on the workings of the Central Bureau of Investigation, NCB and other agencies. “To target the BJP and the central government, they are dragging the investigative agencies into controversies. This had never happened before. Political parties for their selfish gains should not pummel the investigative agencies. What should happen in Gujarat (drug hauls case), the authorities there will decide. Leaders sitting in UP, Gujarat cannot advise on what action should be taken in Maharashtra,” he said.
