After securing a two-set lead at home on Monday, Oct. 5, the Nedrose Cardinals lost in disappointing fashion to their namesake from Washburn. At the end of five sets, it was the Washburn Cardinals who came out on top (15-25, 23-25, 25-17, 25-22, 15-9).

Madelyn Jennings of Washburn led all players in kills with 25. Meanwhile, teammate Sydney Schmidt also reached double figures in kills with 10 on the evening. Sophomore setter Hannah Westrick contributed to Washburn’s comeback efforts by recording a game-high 33 assists.

For Nedrose, Sophia Svystunova and Madison Hayes chipped in with eight kills apiece. Junior Kailee McRoy also had a productive evening by leading Nedrose digs with 24, and senior Kaelie Eggen produced a team-high 20 assists in defeat.
