OMG 2 opened to blended opinions from movie critics. In his assessment for NDTV, movie critic Saibal Chatterjee gave the movie 2 stars out of 5 and he wrote, “God’s messenger in OMG is embodied by a flamboyant Akshay Kumar. The star’s presence in the film is understandable. It enhances the box-office potential of the venture. But why Kanti Sharan Mudgal would need divine intervention to sort out his and his son’s everyday problems in the real world is never clearly and convincingly established.”

Directed by Amit Rai, it’s the sequel to Akshay Kumar and Paresh Rawal’s 2012 movie OMG – Oh My God. The first installment introduced the story of Kanji Lalji Mehta (performed by Paresh Rawal), who information a case towards God for the destruction of his store in an earthquake.
