Panaji: The Sports Authority of Goa (SAG) might be compelled to derecognise a number of state sports activities associations for his or her failure to implement the National Sports Code.

“All the state sports associations have to follow the National Sports Code which has been implemented from Jan 1, 2024,” Vivek Pawar, assistant director (programmes) at SAG wrote to all associations, asking for copies of recognition from the sports activities ministry and the respective federation. “No further grants will be released to any of the state sports association without the submission of the documents. In view of the above, kindly submit the same on or before Feb 29, 2024, failing which the association will be de-recognised by this office.”

According to the sports activities code, the president, secretary and treasurer can maintain workplace for a most interval of 12 years with or with out break.
