A recent survey has revealed that many Indians, who are working from home, are missing going to office in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.

Real estate consultancy JLL’s Asia Pacific survey, titled ‘Home and away: The new workplace hybrid?’, said 82 per cent of surveyed Indian office employees said they miss working from office due to lack of interaction.

“At the height of Covid-19, an average of 68% of employees surveyed in the region worked from home, with Singapore leading at 81%,” according to the JLL survey.

“However, 61% of employees working from home said they missed going to the office. That number rose to 82% in India. Across the region, the human aspect of office was the most missed element.”

Many responders who said they missed going to office cited lack of human interaction and socialising as the primary reason. Lack of access to required tools and devices was another problem that featured in some replies. Meanwhile, some people said that they missed “a daily office routine”.

The JLL survey showed that at least 66 per cent of the surveyed employees were working from home due to the Covid pandemic.

It may be noted that the survey is based on responses given by 1,500 employees from five countries across the Asia Pacific region.
