Pala Casino, Spa & Resort has added a fourth concert series to its roster of outdoor entertainment, this one focused on country music artists.

The northern San Diego County casino announced that it would be starting its Up & Coming Country Artists later this month with planned performances from Honey County on Saturday, Aug. 29 and The Swon Brothers on Saturday, Sept. 12, according to a recent news release.

Pala already has concert series dedicated to tribute acts; funk, soul and R&B bands; and Latin artists. The shows take place in the Starlight Theater, an outdoor venue.

Honey County is a Southern California female country trio that has opened for stars such as Jake Owen and Brett Eldredge in Southern California and played festivals such as the Coastal Country Jam.

In 2019, Honey County performed a song at the 2019 Stagecoach Country Music Festival that had an accompanying dance that was dedicated to victims of the Borderline Bar & Grill shooting in Thousand Oaks and the Route 91 Harvest Festival shooting in Las Vegas.

The Swon Brothers were finalists on NBC’s “The Voice” in 2013 and performed at Stagecoach two years later.  Some of their popular songs on Spotify include “Good To You,” “Later On” and “Mommas.”

Tickets, which are $10, can be purchased in person at the Pala Box Office, by visiting palacasino.com or by calling 877-946-7252. Tickets can also be purchased by visiting etix.com or calling 800-514-3849.

Concerts and music festivals are not yet allowed under Gov. Gavin Newsom’s multi stage plan for reopening California during the novel coronavirus pandemic. The stage of reopening that would allow such things to happen is dependent on treatment methods being available. However, casinos are located on tribal land, giving them a measure of sovereignty to put on such events.

In its news release, Pala says it is following guidelines and recommendations issued by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention for businesses. It says seats are sanitized and pre-set to enforce proper social distancing and that guests have their temperature screened at the entrance to the casino.
