Headquartered in the USA, AMC is the largest movie exhibition company in both the USA and the world, with 1,000 theatres and 11,000 screens globally. The 9 theatre locations, based across Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia, have been purchased by Estonian headquartered investment company – Up Invest.

The cross-jurisdictional and multidisciplinary team advising on the transaction at Pinsent Masons was led by partner Tom Leman and ssenior aassociate James Kaye. They led a team including associate Alexandra Aikman, associate Ben Elliott, senior associate Chris Watts, solicitor Kamila Simekova, trainee solicitor Alex Hum, trainee solicitor Ali Alromaihi and legal project manager Rinesh Pankhania.

The team at Pinsent Masons worked in close collaboration with the in-house legal team at Odeon Cinema Group Ltd (a wholly owned subsidiary of AMC) to ensure the success of the deal. The team included Chief Legal & Compliance Officer Chris Thomas, Senior Group Legal Counsel Fiona Johnston and Robert Seefeldt Vice President Legal from AMC.

Pinsent Masons also partnered with Sorainen (a firm with presence in the Baltic regions) to deal with local law issues across all jurisdictions on the deal.
