Pradeep Menon appointed Head of HSBC Technology IndiaHSBC Technology has promoted Pradeep Menon to head the technology GCC in India as the MD and Head of HSBC Technology.

Menon joined HSBC in 2019 as the CIO of the Group Data Technology & Analytics, leading the data engineering function globally that touches HSBC’s businesses and operations across countries and territories. Later, he was also the centre head for the Hyderabad offices of HTI.

However, in the new role, Menon’s priorities will be to drive robust and agile software delivery from the India centres to effect better customer outcomes across HSBC’s businesses globally. To deliver on this, he has envisioned three pillars, Engineering Brilliance, Customer Centricity and Best-in-Class Talent, on which the leadership team will drive initiatives on new ways of working, adoption of new technologies, and continuous learning and development at the centres.

Commenting on the role, Menon said, “Am excited to take on the stewardship and help HTI continue to grow from strength to strength. Technology is at the heart of how as a bank, we open up opportunities for our customers and our people. The India Technology Centres are a key link in the technology value stream for the Bank and we drive customer outcomes from here for all global processes and regions.”

Steve Van Wyk, Group CIO, HSBC, added, “Digitising the Bank across our international network is at the centre of our Group strategy, to create excellent customer experience, drive efficiency and new growth opportunities. I look forward to working with Pradeep in his new role and his talented team to achieve this.”

Before jonining HSBC, Menon has earlier worked at Dell, Maersk, and GE. With data and modern technology touching every aspect of business, Pradeep is looking to synergise his data and leadership experience as he leads the Bank’s India technology GCCs. Pradeep holds a Master’s degree in Management from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Bombay. He regularly speaks at industry forums, and advocates customer centricity for the GCC industry at large, for them to be able to deliver innovations and drive business transformation.
