The Premier League players and match officials will wear badges on their shirt sleeves during the forthcoming 2020-21 campaign featuring the message “No Room For Racism”, the top-flight have confirmed.

That is a change from last term’s post-restart fixtures, when a “Black Lives Matter” logo featured on shirt sleeves throughout, with that message also replacing player names on the back of shirts for the first 12 matches following the league’s return from its coronavirus-enforced shutdown.

The new badge was agreed following a virtual meeting held between captains of all 20 Premier League clubs on Thursday and will be worn throughout the whole season.

The top-flight – whose “No Room for Racism” campaign was launched last year – added that they would continue to support players who choose to take a knee when the new campaign kicks off this weekend.

“We, our clubs, players and match officials have a longstanding commitment to tackling discrimination,” said Premier League CEO Richard Masters.
