NEW DELHI :

Even as Bollywood remains wary of announcing dates for theatrical releases, studios and producers are wooing audiences to cinemas by lining up content for next year, as they expect the covid situation to improve. Hindi film production houses, such as Reliance Entertainment and T-Series, will collaborate on more than 10 projects across genres with investments of nearly 1,000 crore. The titles include big-budget tentpole films, as well as mid- and small-budget content-driven movies, the firms said in a joint statement.

Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series, which started as a music label in 1984, and has also produced Hindi films, has worked with Anil Ambani-owned Reliance Entertainment on marketing music for over 100 films.

In the next 24 to 36 months, the companies will release three big-ticket titles, and a bunch of high-concept films, besides Hindi remake of Tamil dramas and action thrillers, a historical biopic, an espionage thriller, a courtroom drama, a satirical comedy, a romance drama and a film based on real-life events. For the new slate, T-Series and Reliance have tied up with film-makers Pushkar and Gayatri, Vikramjit Singh, Mangesh Hadawale, Srijit Mukherji and Sankalp Reddy, the statement added. Reliance also awaits the release of Akshay Kumar’s Sooryavanshi and sport drama ’83 that have been ready since 2020. It already has long-term partnerships with film-makers Rohit Shetty and Neeraj Pandey, and is also dabbling in regional language cinema, besides web originals.
