ITANAGAR, 2 Nov: A report of molestation of scholars at Govt Residential School, Karo underneath Pidi circle in Shi Yomi district, allegedly by the hostel warden, has surfaced.

On 30 October, a group of Mechukha unit of the Arunachal Pradesh Women’s Welfare Society (APWWS) visited the varsity after receiving details about an incident of kid molestation, and met the teacher-in-charge of the varsity, mother and father of victims, the GBs, the varsity administration committee members and the ladies welfare group of Karo village to know concerning the floor realities.

As per the assertion given within the FIR lodged with police by the mother and father of the victims and ladies of Karo village, the APWWS mentioned, “The school’s hostel warden, Yumken Bagra initiated the molestation of minor boys and girls at the hostel and the incident came to light when two students disclosed the matter to their parents.”

“It was further revealed that the molestation and physical assault on students of the school has been happening since last four years,” the APWWS mentioned.

While condemning the shameful and heinous crime within the strongest phrases, the APWWS demanded that the regulation implementing authority take instant motion towards the offender and guide him underneath the POCSO Act.
