RIPON – The Ripon Area School District has moved football, boys soccer and girls volleyball to the spring semester but will still hold cross-country and girls tennis this fall.

The district school board voted during a meeting Wednesday to use the alternate season for its high-risk sports approved by the WIAA in August.

Football can begin practice March 8, girls volleyball can begin Feb. 22 and boys soccer can practice starting March 22. Ripon’s first football game can be played the week of March 22. The debut of the Tigers’ new turf will have to wait until 2021.

The fall, winter, spring and alternate spring seasons will be shorter than normal for the 2020-21 school year.
