Chümoukedima, October 16 (MExN): The St Joseph University (SJU), Nagaland organised its maiden inter-college/university annual sports event titled, St Joseph Trophy from October 13 to 15 at its campus. 

During the three-day event, a total of 16 colleges and universities from three different districts competed in various sports disciplines such as football, basketball and volleyball and St Joseph’s College (SJC), Jakhama emerged as the overall champions.

At the valedictory ceremony on October 15, Dr D Gnanadurai, Vice Chancellor of SJU gave away the trophy and the prizes to the winners. 

In football, ICFAI University won the first place after beating the SJC in the final.  In basketball, SJC won the first place, while the Tetso College stood second.

The SJC also took the first prize in the Volleyball (men’s category), again beating the Tetso College.

In women’s volleyball, Dimapur Government College emerged as the champions, while SJC stood second.
