ATHENS, Ga – Classic Entertainment partners with Terrapin Beer Co. and the Ready, Set, Go Safely initiative to present an in-person, live performance with a focus on sanitation and safety. The socially distanced concert will be held at The Classic Center Theatre on Friday, October 23 at 7:30 p.m. After being extremely well-received as part of the Band Together project over the summer, Cicada Rhythm and Sam Burchfield are back as co-headliners for this exciting performance.

Cicada Rhythm’s music features roots-rock tunes, slow waltzes, politically-minded lyrics, front-porch folksongs, and backwoods ballads, all delivered by a group of road warriors who’ve cut their teeth not only in the writing room, but onstage, too. With guitar picking honed in the dive bars of Atlanta over rolling Julliard-trained bass lines, guests can expect chilling harmonies, unbridled enthusiasm, some wholesome tunes, and a sincere performance.

Sam Burchfield was raised in the foothills of the Blue Ridge mountains of South Carolina and brought up on Appalachian music – folk, gospel, country, and southern soul. The young songwriter draws on these roots with a deep lyrical honesty and carries the tradition of folk music forward. In a world of cell phones and internet distractions, Sam’s body of work beckons the listener to plant their feet firmly in the soil.

The safety of our guests is our number one priority. This event is produced in conjunction with the Ready, Set, Go Safely campaign, a collaborative community effort to promote and encourage protocol, sanitization measures, and safety guidelines. All staff, artists, and guests are required to sign an affidavit of known health before entering the building, and guests will be required to wear a face covering while inside. Hand sanitizing stations have been installed in high traffic areas, and spaces are regularly sanitized with an electrostatic disinfecting machine. Guests can expect staggered entry and exit times for events and limited restroom access at any one time to minimize gatherings. Additionally, touchless operations have been implemented where possible and the air within the HVAC systems is being exchanged more frequently to maximize the fresh air coming into the venue.
