Sony Music Entertainment India has appointed Vinit Thakkar as managing director, reporting into Shridhar Subramaniam, president of company technique and market improvement for Asia and the Middle East.

Thakkar will take over from Rajat Kakar, who’s scheduled to go away on the finish of March. Thakkar was previously COO, India and South Asia, for Universal Music, the place he performed a key function in main label signings with main artists and can be extensively credited for the creation and launch of non-film artist-centred platforms in a market historically dominated by songs from function movie soundtracks.  At Sony, he’ll collaborate with regional and international groups to strengthen the corporate’s strategic partnerships and establish new development alternatives for its artists.
