Dante Scarzella led the Novato High boys water polo in scoring again, netting five times in a 15-12 victory against Marin Academy on Tuesday.

Hannes Gerber and Niko Stratigos both scored three times for the Hornets (6-3, 2-2 MCAL). Cole Morris added a pair of goals while Ezra Portillo and Derek Bartram scored once.

Girls tennis

Carly Amborn, Ana Fatjo and Audrey Johnston picked up straight-set wins at Nos. 1-3 singles, respectively, as Archie Williams defeated Novato 6-1 on Tuesday.

Alicia Kim had the lone win for the Hornets at No. 4 singles.

Girls golf

Kiana Briggs took medalist honors with a 36 at Marin Country Club on Tuesday, leading Novato to a 227-257 victory against San Rafael.

Women’s golf

Claire Shubin shot an even-par 72 on Tuesday to move up 16 spots at the RJGA Shootout at Estrella in Goodyear, Ariz. Shubin finished 10th at 5 over for the Penguins, who finished seventh in a field of 19 teams. Dominican was the top PacWest team at the tournament.

Girls volleyball

Grace Felsenthal had 16 assists, eight digs and a pair of aces as Marin Academy defeated San Domenico, 25-12, 25-11, 25-9 on Tuesday.

Greta Borland added six kills and two aces for MA (20-6, 5-0 BCL West). Amanda Johnson had 16 digs and eight kills.

Women’s volleyball

Mariah Ahid had 11 kills as Dominican remained winless after a loss to Hawaii Hilo on Monday night. The Penguins won the first set in their bid to register their first victory of the season but dropped the next three. Samantha Brown had 20 digs and Gabi Maiocco had 16 assists.
