Natalia Clifford had 18 kills, 11 digs and three aces as the Tam High girls volleyball team outlasted Novato in five on Wednesday night, winning 21-25, 25-14, 25-16, 14-25, 15-10.

Wesley Slavin piled up 43 assists and added five kills, five digs and three aces for Tam (19-9, 2-4 MCAL). Sachi Hauser had seven kills, five digs, five aces and three blocks.

Novato was led by Emerson Burt (12 aces) and Theo Hayse (16 kills, three aces). Alexis Weiss and Lauren Cervantez combined for 26 assists.

  • Freshman outside hitter Elena Fisher had 14 kills, 10 digs and five aces to lead Branson to a 25-18, 25-11, 25-15 victory against Archie Williams (16-3, 4-1) on Wednesday. Sadie Snipes added 12 kills and five aces. Gia Fisher had 18 digs and Eva Lacy had 10 kills. Setter Logan Tusher had 38 assists, 10 digs and five kills. Branson (16-1, 4-1) faces Redwood on Friday in one of the more anticipated matchups of the season. The Peregrine Falcons were led by Elsa Snipes (12 kills, three aces), Ella Heimbrodt (eight digs, six kills) and Reese Fraser (19 assists, 10 digs).
  • Sophia Shaw had 11 digs and four aces to help lead Redwood to a 25-13, 25-23, 25-17 win against San Rafael. Emma McDermott and Jaden Hendrickson both had 10 kills for the Giants (16-3, 4-1). Jordan Vasquez had 22 assists, four digs and three aces.
  • Kelsey Ramsey had a team-high 12 kills as Marin Catholic secured a 25-13, 25-8, 25-19 win over Terra Linda on Wednesday. Emily Green added eight kills for MC (20-2, 6-0) while Izzy Do Arellanes had eight digs. Mia Clayton hit .750 and freshman Corey Lemmer hit .400.
  • The California Interscholastic Federation released its official volleyball rankings with Marin Catholic being ranked second in the state. The Wildcats trail only Marymount (24-0) in the poll. Branson also made the cut, sitting 17th in the top 25.

Girls golf

Redwood got balanced scoring from Renee Wahbeh, Imani Kathiriya and Chloe Branson — who all carded 43s at Peacock Gap — in victories over Novato (176-207) and San Rafael (176-219) on Thursday.

Kiana Briggs took medalist honors again with a 42, helping lead Novato to a win over San Rafael that qualified the Hornets for the MCAL Championships.

  • Elizabeth Liu shot a 32 at Indian Valley, taking medalist honors and leading Branson to a 146-186 win against San Marin. Aimee Yang followed with a 36, Anna Han had a 38 and Kylie Kariotis carded a 40. Leilani Brennan led the Mustangs with a 41.

Girls water polo

Maja Layden scored four times and Abby Brooks scored three to lead Tam to a 15-12 win against Marin Academy on Wednesday. Anna Plante led the Red-tailed Hawks (9-4, 6-0) in steals (4) and assists (3).

Boys water polo

Quinn Concannon led the way with four goals as Tam defeated Marin Academy, 11-8, on Wednesday. Zach Pollack and Ty Moutafian both scored twice for Tam. Aydan Yates had four assists and Fargo Barsotti had five saves.

  • Archie Williams defeated San Rafael 16-8 on Wednesday night. No further details were available.
