Florida’s COVID forces Mizzou soccer to postpone opener: COVID-19 has altered one of Mizzou’s revised sports schedules. Saturday’s scheduled season opener for the MU women’s soccer team, against Florida, has been postponed because of three positive tests for Florida players and widespread quarantines for others in the Gators’ program.

Mizzou and Florida will work to reschedule the game as part of the Southeastern Conference’s shortened eight-game schedule. The Tigers now open the season Sept. 27 at South Carolina, with their first home match set for Oct. 3 against Vanderbilt. (Dave Matter)

Boston Marathon wraps up virtually: Two Black Hawk helicopters flew over the route of the Boston Marathon on Monday to wrap up a virtual event in which thousands of runners went 26.2 miles on their own. The helicopters flew the route from the starting line in Hopkinton to the finish line on Boylston Street in Boston in support of health care workers on the front lines of the coronavirus pandemic.
