ST Engineering’s US subsidiary hires Raytheon exec as president

Singapore Technologies Engineering has hired former Raytheon Technologies government relations lead executive Tim McBride as president of the former’s U.S. subsidiary.

He will start at ST Engineering North America on Nov. 1 and lead the development and execution of its strategy for growth in government and certain commercial markets, the company said Monday.

The Alexandria, Virginia-headquartered subsidiary represents one-fourth of the conglomerate’s overall annual revenue and employs more than 5,000 people that work in the aerospace, electronics, transportation, marine and other sectors involving critical infrastructure.

McBride joins ST Engineering North America amid its announced plan to acquire transportation systems company TransCore from Roper Technologies for roughly $2.68 billion.

Prior to that, ST Engineering was known as the rival suitor in a bidding war earlier this year for defense and transportation company Cubic Corp. Private equity firm Veritas Capital and its activist investor partner in Elliott Management Corp. won that one out.

McBride was most recently senior vice president of government relations at Raytheon and held the same role at United Technologies Corp. before those two companies became one in the spring of last year.
