SARANAC LAKE — The Saranac Lake girls and boys cross nation groups wrapped up the common season Tuesday at Dewey Mountain, with sweeps over the Plattsburgh Hornets, the Seton Catholic Knights and the AuSable Valley Patriots.

The Red Storm ladies additionally took six of the highest seven positions of their race, to defeat all three opponents by equivalent 15-50 scores. The Hornets, Knights and Patriots didn’t have sufficient ladies runners to rely towards the group scores.

AuSable Valley’s high finisher was Emma Pelkey (24:30) in eighth and Bella Spiegel (24:58) was the highest Knights finisher, putting ninth.

Saranac Lake was rounded out by Sabine Denkenberger (25:49) in eleventh, Maggie Reed (27:29) in sixteenth and Lauryn Caldwell (30:43) in twentieth.

The Red Storm’s Jake Kollmer received the boys race in 16:47. Kollmer has positioned first in all eight league meets this season. The Hornets’ Connor Duda positioned second in 17:26 and AuSable Valley’s Colton Dupuis was third in 17:46. Saranac Lake’s Sam Bickford (17:48) and Seton Catholic’s Max Grafstein (18:00) rounded out the highest 5, putting fourth and fifth, respectively.

After Bickford’s end two Plattsburgh runners crossed the end line. However, the Red Storm trio of Sam Madden (18:25 in ninth), Max Hall (18:25 in tenth) and Keaton Daley (18:33 in eleventh) completed earlier than the Hornets had a fourth runner cross the end line to earn the victory.

Saranac Lake’s Austin Shoemaker (18:50) positioned thirteenth general, adopted by teammates Alex Evans (18:52) in 14th, Liam Fletcher (18:59) in sixteenth, Emmett VanBuskirk (19:10) in seventeenth and Jonah Seleni (19:10) in 18th. The Red Storm was rounded out by Sage Kite-Whidden (21:16) in twenty fourth and Sam Clark (22:11) in twenty sixth.

The CVAC championship on Saturday will kick off with the boys varsity race at 11:30 a.m., adopted by the women race at 12:30 p.m.
