Udupi: Hindu outfits staged a protest in Udupi district of Karnataka on Wednesday alleging that Hindu college students had been compelled to bounce to Azan throughout a sports activities meet.

The incident passed off throughout a Zonal Sports Meet organised in Shankaranarayana close to Udupi city on the premises of the Mother Theresa Memorial School. The video of scholars dancing to the Azan had gone viral on social media.

The organisers have maintained that the dance was carried out to a music which represented Hindu, Islam and Christian religions on the inaugural session.
