Rose d’Or, Europe’s TV and audio entertainment awards, has announce that TV and radio star, Sue Perkins, will host this year’s 60th anniversary ceremony.

The Rose d’Or has recognised great British TV achievement since the 1960’s. This year, Sue will follow in the footsteps of Sir Lenny Henry and Nish Kumar, who have hosted the Rose d’Or Awards ceremony in recent years.

Sue said: “It’s an absolute honour to be presenting the Rose d’Or Awards, which have celebrated TV greats across the genres for over 60 years – from Dame Edna Everage to Sir David Attenborough. It’s been a tough 12 months for everyone, yet despite the odds, great shows have kept on coming. I can’t wait to see which ones claim these coveted prizes on the night.”

Sue hosted The Great British Bake Off for seven seasons for the BBC; astonished the audience of ITV’s Masked Singer as a celebrity competitor earlier this year – and she’s recently taken the role as chair of BBC Radio’s iconic Just a Minute comedy series.

Sue has also presented highly regarded travel, music and wildlife programmes and has comedy writing credits that include the multi-award winning Absolutely Fabulous. Her memoir Spectacles topped the Sunday Times best seller list.

Mark Rowland, Chair of the Rose d’Or Jury said: “We are delighted that Sue has agreed to host this year’s awards. Sue is such an accomplished broadcaster across the whole range of TV and Radio entertainment the Rose d’Or is here to celebrate”.
