Technology can’t stay confined to massive gamers and MSMEs and start-ups have to be enabled to entry finance for utilizing it optimally, Environment Secretary Leena Nandan mentioned as we speak. She was talking at a panel dialogue on “Technology Needs Assessment for Sustainable Life” on the India Pavilion at COP 27 to determine know-how wants and their evaluation for adoption for sustainable wellbeing of worldwide residents in future.

Nandan mentioned what India and the world want as we speak is know-how. “Climate change is not an issue confined to those who are seen as emitters. There is now a realisation and larger and uniform understanding that climate change cannot be wished away. It is knocking at our door,” she mentioned.

Nandan added that discussions have to now deal with bridging the gaps between what we need to obtain and methods to obtain it. “Technology cannot remain confined to big players due to their access to finance. MSMEs and start-ups need to be enabled to access finance to use technology optimally,” she mentioned.

India will launch its Long-term Low Emissions and Development Strategies (LTLEDS) at COP27 on Monday. Environment Minister Bhupendra Yadav, who is because of return for the second week of negotiations at COP27 by Monday, will launch the doc, in accordance with officers.
