Two school college students in Davanagere have died by suicide after an alleged video of them being intimate went viral on social media, police stated on Sunday.

According to a police officer, a video of the intimate moments of the scholars on the terrace of the school was recorded and uploaded on social media on July 25.

After the video was shared on social media, the woman, ended her life at her home on Friday morning. After studying about her dying, the boy too died by suicide on Friday night time, a police officer conscious of the matter stated.

Following the incident, the mother and father of each the scholars lodged separate complaints with the police, in search of accountability for filming the video with out their consent and its dissemination, an officer stated.

Davanagere superintendent of police Okay Arun informed reporters on Saturday that an investigation is underway to determine the accused.

“With regards to the suicide of both the girl and the boy, a complaint has been given by both their parents separately. Enquiry is being conducted,” he stated.
