TMC MP Mahua Moitra and Opposition members stormed out of the Lok Sabha Ethics Committee assembly Thursday accusing the panel chief of asking her private and unethical questions.

The House panel is probing BJP MP Nishikant Dubey’s allegations that Moitra accepted bribes and favours for asking questions within the Lok Sabha on the behest of businessman Darshan Hiranandani. In a letter to the ethics panel, Mahua — who has rejected the allegations — requested for permission to cross-examine the alleged ‘bribe giver’ Hiranandani and the complainant, Advocate Jai Dehadrai.

Congress member N Uttam alleged that the Opposition members discovered the panel chairperson’s inquiries to Moitra as “undignified and unethical.”
