The United States recognises the McMahon Line because the worldwide boundary between China and Arunachal Pradesh, based on a bipartisan Senate decision which sees Arunachal Pradesh as an integral a part of India.

The decision, which comes following the most important conflict between the Republic of India and China within the Eastern Sector alongside the Line of Actual Control in six years, reaffirms that the United States recognises the McMahon Line because the worldwide boundary between China and the Indian state of Arunachal Pradesh.
