A 20-year-old lady died in a street accident in Uttar Pradesh’s Bulandshahr district, News18 reported. The sufferer’s household have alleged that the incident passed off when the girl, who was using pillion, was harassed by bikers.

The accident reportedly passed off on August 10 because the woman, Sudeeksha Bhati, was heading to her kin’ place in Aurangabad.

Studying entrepreneurship on a scholarship of over Rs 3.8 crore on the Babson College in Massachusetts, Bhati was house for holidays and was resulting from return to the US on August 20, the report stated.

While preliminary studies claimed that she was on a two-wheeler along with her uncle, officers later clarified that her brother (a minor) was using the car.

“Sudeeksha’s uncle is wrongly stating that he was the one riding the bike. When the accident occurred, he was not present at the spot. Police have obtained a video in which Nigam Bhati, the woman’s brother, is narrating the entire incident at Primary Health Centre. Nigam Bhati is a minor and he was probably riding the bike,” District Magistrate Bulandshehar, Ravindra Kumar instructed News18.

Following the incident, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati tweeted, “The promising student Sudeeksha Bhati, who was going on a bike with her uncle in Bulandshahr, lost her life due to eve-teasers, which is extremely sad, shameful and condemnable. How will daughters progress? UP government should take strict legal action against the culprits immediately, this is a strong demand of BSP.”
