PUNE: Rajeev Chavan, the Principal Controller of Defence Accounts (Officers) has asked officials and staffers to use contemporary technology to reduce the time lag for admitting claims for better satisfaction of the Indian Army officers.
Chavan, who took over the charge office in May, addressed them on the raising day of the Defence Accounts Department (DAD) raising day on October 1, at the PCDA (O) office in Pune at Golibar maidan.
“There is a blind trust of the Army officers on this office. We have to work hard to meet their aspirations. The officials and staff need to use contemporary Information Technology (IT) tools effectively. It would not only help us to provide better service to the officers but also to cope with the staffing deficiency. It will also prevent physical contact, which is necessary for the prevailing Covid 19 situation,’ said Chavan.
The office caters to over 46,000 army officers, from Lieutenant to the Chief Of Army Staff (COAS). Its main task is to pre-audit, pays, allowances, and claims of officers of the Army.
The Army has more than 300 General officers, 4000 doctors of Army Medical Corps (AMC), over 3000 Military Nursing Service (MNS) officers besides engineering officers and officers of Territorial Army (TA).
The officer had organized a grand cultural event. The Jazz band of the Bombay Engineering Group and Centre (BEG&C) performed on occasion.
Also, Chavan presented awards and certificates to the winners of the various sports events conducted throughout the week as part of the week-long celebration of the raising day.
While T Satish Kumar, Assistant Controller of Defence Accounts (ACDA) welcomed the dignitaries, Lehana Singh, Deputy Controller of Defence Accounts (DCDA), appreciated the officials and staff for working hard during the pandemic time on the occasion.
