The actor has opened up about his psychological well being struggles and mentioned he has overcome a “dark” part in his life when all the pieces round him crumbled. Vivek confessed of being so low that he thought “about things” that late actor Sushant Singh Rajput did.

In an interview with Humans of Bombay, Vivek was requested about his battle with psychological well being and the way he overcame it. Vivek spoke aout Sushant and recalled attending his funeral in the course of the pandemic. He shared that solely 20 folks have been allowed to attend the funeral.

“I have met Sushant, interacted with him, he was a lovely boy, phenomenal talent and absolute tragedy to lose him the way we did as an industry,” Vivek mentioned. The actor added how Sushant’s passing away was a loss to the trade and “people at large.”

“If I am being absolutely honest, there is a very dark place you can get to in life, especially when professional, personal everything starts going wrong at the same time.  I have been there, at the edge of darkness. It is not that I have not thought about things that Sushant did,” he added.

Vivek recalled attending Sushant’s funeral in peak COVID, watching his household breakdown on the sight of his pyre. “There were 20 people at the funeral. I was one of them. In that rain, I saw the shattered eyes of the father and the only thought I had looking at his body there was, ‘Buddy if you had seen this scene, if you saw what this action would do to the people you love, you wouldn’t have taken this step.’”

Vivek mentioned he has learnt that if one is in that part, it’s clever to “fast forward in your head”. He added, “Think what would you do by ending your life to those who genuinely love you, the harm and ache. You don’t wish to trigger them ache. Go into love and lightweight, to the individuals who truly love you. There will probably be catharsis, you’ll cry, it’s going to all come out. I used to be lucky that I had that house, I’ve that house, household, which holds me in these moments.

“I sat on the floor, put my head on my mother’s lap like a baby and cried and wondered ‘Why is this happening to me?’ I cried for 40 minutes and then she asked me, ‘When you were winning those awards, getting all the fame and love, did you ask why me?’” he recalled.
