Wareham Historical Society will host “Parlor Entertainment in the 1900s,” an evening of history and entertainment, at 7 p.m. Oct. 18 at Methodist Meeting House, 495 Main St., Wareham.

Entertainment became the primary use of parlors in the 1900s. Mack and Cathy Phinney will relate the history of the types of entertainment available, from the mid 19th century through the early 20th century, using the newest forms of media technology available at that time. Some of these historic devices were found in the Fearing Tavern and have been restored to working condition. Refreshments will be served after the program.
