Two of the nation’s best teams against the spread meet up in one of the top matchups on the Week 9 college football schedule. No. 6 Michigan travels to East Lansing to take on No. 8 Michigan State at noon ET on Saturday, and Caesars Sportsbook lists the Wolverines as four-point road favorites in the Week 9 college football odds. The Spartans are 5-1-1 against the spread this year, while the Wolverines are 6-1 ATS. That’s just one of the Week 9 college football spreads that bettors will be evaluating.

One of Sallee’s top college football picks for Week 9: Florida State (+9.5) stays within the spread at Clemson in a 3:30 p.m. ET ACC Atlantic Division battle.

Clemson has been way overvalued by oddsmakers all season and Sallee believes that to be the case again in Week 9. The Tigers have yet to cover against an FBS opponent this season and they’re just 2-2 straight-up in their last four. The two wins during that span came against Syracuse and Boston College by a combined total of nine points.

The Tigers aren’t moving the ball on offense, and that’s going to be an issue against an improving FSU defense that Sallee points out is only giving up around 350 yards per game this month. FSU has won three straight and has covered in two straight, so there’s value building a parlay around a squad that is getting 9.5 points against a struggling opponent.

“Can Clemson even score 9.5 points? I say that in jest, of course,” Sallee told SportsLine. “But what is there to suggest that the Tigers can muster up enough offense to make this an easy win? Nothing.”
