An 80-kilometre bike ride sounds like a big task, but a veteran from this province says having an attainable goal to reach is excellent for mental health.

A Virtual Ride For Mental Health is set to take place on August 22, to raise funds for veterans.

The national event by Wounded Warriors, will provide an opportunity for Canadians from coast-to-coast to challenge their mental and physical health while raising awareness.

Blair Hennessy struggles with PTSD and is participating in the Virtual Ride for Mental Health because he is physically able. He says that is something to celebrate.

Most of the money raised will go to Wounded Warriors programming, says Hennessey.

One of those programs involves getting bikes for veterans to help them to stay fit mentally and physically.
