Evan Niedrowski scored a pair of early touchdowns and Wyomissing cashed in on good field position in a 44-0 non-league win over Plymouth-Whitemarsh Saturday at the A-Field.

The Colonials, making their season debut, made several costly special teams miscues in the first half and the state-ranked Spartans (3-0) pounced.

Niedrowski scored his first TD on a 6-yard run just five plays after the Spartans took over at the Colonials’ 40 following a turnover on downs.

Jack Feightner’s blocked punt at the Colonials’ 14 set up Niedrowski’s 1-yard plunge for a 14-0 lead less than eight minutes into the game.

Wyomissing scored a safety when a punt snap was sent through the end zone, and again after the Colonials botched another punt snap inside their 5. Zach Zechman’s 1-yard TD toss to Darren Brunner made it 23-0 with 8 1/2 minutes left in the first half.

Wyomissing got the ball right back when Tim Fleischood recovered an onside kick at the Colonials’ 30. Five plays later, John Huber’s 7-yard TD run made it 30-0.
