JOHNSON CITY (WBNG) — Xcite Wrestling and the Oakdale Mall announced they are teaming up to bring live entertainment to the Southern Tier. 

In a press release, Xcite Wrestling says they have created a venue called The X Drive-In at the Oakdale Mall. They say it will use the east and west Macy’s lots and the furthermost North lot.

Xcite Wrestling says they plan on providing a variety of entertainment that will go into the fall of this year and throughout the summer of next year. 

They say The X Drive-In will open with the state’s first-ever drive-in wrestling event.

Xcite Wrestling is working with the New York State Athletic Commission to come up with a safety plan that fulfills the state’s guidelines. They say their safety plan will be provided on their website before patrons attend the events. 

The wrestling company also says they will show classic movies in the north lot starting in late August. They said the east and west Macy’s lots will be used for professional wrestling, comedy events and concerts.

The Xcite Wrestling event will occur on Saturday, August 22. Ticket information and safety protocols can be found here. Information for the drive-in movies will be available soon.
