The Chautauqua Sports Hall of Fame, in partnership with the Jamestown Tarp Skunks, unveiled on Saturday the book entitled “Our Game: From Unknowns to Tarp Skunks, 155 Years (And Counting!) of Baseball in Jamestown, New York.”

“Our Game” is a reprint of the 1998 book “Across the Seams” by Dave Mulei, with new, additional chapters edited by Post-Journal sports editor Scott Kindberg.

In front of a group of Jamestown baseball supporters at the Robert H. Jackson Center, Greg Peterson interviewed Mulei, Kindberg and Randy Anderson, president of the Chautauqua Sports Hall of Fame. The trio shared stories of the work that went into making the revised version of the book, printed by Falconer Printing, a reality. “Our Game” provides an in-depth look at the history of baseball in Jamestown, from the many affiliations with Major League Baseball teams to Jamestown’s more recent participation in summer collegiate baseball.

The event also featured the unveiling of a pair of 22×28-inch full-cover posters, created by the Chautauqua Sports Hall of Fame, that feature the baseball cards of players and coaches who spent time in both Jamestown and in Major League Baseball.

Both “Our Game,” and the posters are for sale to the public. Books and posters can be purchased at the Chautauqua Sports Hall of Fame at 15 W. 3rd St. in Jamestown, or at the Tarp Skunks office at Diethrick Park, 485 Falconer St. in Jamestown, or online at tarpskunks.com. The book is $25, and the posters are $20 each or $35 for the pair. There is a shipping fee of $8 for all orders that are not picked up in person.
