He was born December 23, 1948, in Steubenville, OH. He was preceded in death by his father Ralph E. (Dorothy) Nickoson Sr., his mother Ruth Tice Abrams, his brother Ronald Nickoson, his grandmother Sarah Nickoson, who raised him, and his beloved cousin Marty Mackey, who he grew up with and considered more of a brother and best friend. He was a retired Teamster from local #92, a Vietnam Veteran and member of the American Legion Post #573 of Brilliant, OH.

He is survived by his loving wife Cynthia K. Nickoson, his daughter Tracy (Stan) Bartlett, his son Richard L. (Leslie) Nickoson Jr, two brothers Ralph (Margaret) Nickoson Jr., and Robert (Linda) Nickoson. His eight grandchildren: Danielle, Charlie, Samuel, Sarah, Elizabeth, Richard, Christopher and Katelynn as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at Schuetz Funeral Home, 235 Clifton Ave., Mingo Junction, OH, on Tuesday, October 6, from 4-8 p.m. with services at 7 p.m. by the Brilliant American Legion and prayers of the family to follow with sister-in-law Margaret Nickoson officiating.
