Harding

¯ OTHERS EXPECTED TO CONTRIBUTE: Braylen Schuller, Taryn Baughnan

¯ SEASON OUTLOOK: Payiavlas is expected to lead the team after his first All-Conference recognition last year. Payiavlas shot an average of 38 in his sophomore season. If Karafa and Kellar, along with sophomore Schuller, continue to improve, coach Burd thinks the Raiders can be very competitive.

Howland

¯ COACH: Scott Thompson (1st year)

¯ LAST YEAR: 9-3

¯ LEAGUE: All-American Conference

¯ RETURNING LETTERMEN (*-letters won): Ethan DeJacimo ***, Dylan Shields **, Ethan Huly *, Ryan Ungee *

¯ OTHERS EXPECTED TO CONTRIBUTE: Ben Bronson. Nick Beard, Evan McClain, Clifford Phillips

¯ SEASON OUTLOOK: The Tigers are led by seniors DeJacimo and Shields. Early in the season the team has made great strides, finishing thrid at the Pleasant Hills Invitational and sixth and the Brookfield Invitational.

LaBrae

¯ COACH: John Pugh (3rd year, 3-16)

¯ LAST YEAR: 3-8

¯ LEAGUE: Mahoning Valley Athletic Conference Gray Tier

¯ RETURNING LETTERMEN (*-letters won): Aiden Kiser **, Riley Phillips **, Sam Bailey *, Lucas Lancaster *

¯ OTHERS EXPECTED TO CONTRIBUTE: Ethan Ancell, Aiden Doll, Christian Heught, Riley Davidson, Charlie Faler

¯ SEASON OUTLOOK: With the returning lettermen and new players improving, the Vikings look to be a tough competitor in the league.

Mathews

¯ LEAGUE: Northeastern Athletic Conference

¯ SEASON OUTLOOK: The Mustangs look to use their experience to improve off last season’s record. Coming into the season with five letterwinners, Mathews wants to make a push for the league title.

¯ COACH: Drew Bakes (1st year)

¯ LAST YEAR: 6-7

¯ LEAGUE: All-American Conference

¯ SEASON OUTLOOK: The Falcons have a strong group of returning lettermen coming back. Seniors Nate Cene and Dylan Roby, along with junior Dom Kapics, are very experienced. The team expects to compete for the conference title and make a push in the tournament.

Jackson-Milton

¯ COACH: Dan Crish (5th year)

¯ LAST YEAR: 15-5

¯ LEAGUE: Mahoning Valley Athletic Conference Scarlet Tier

¯ SEASON OUTLOOK: The Blue Jays look to capitalize on experience and contend for the MVAC Scarlet title. After a very successful 2019 season, Jackson-Milton looks to continue improving and building for a very successful 2020 season.

Girls golf

Howland

¯ COACH: Matt Zakrajsek (1st year)

¯ LAST YEAR: 9-7, (8-6 AAC), team district qualifier

¯ LEAGUE: All-American Conference

¯ POSTSEASON: Division I, Tamer Win Sectional

¯ RETURNING LETTERMEN (*-letters won): Bailey Ulrich (Jr.) **, Giavona DelBono (Jr.) *

¯ OTHERS EXPECTED TO CONTRIBUTE: Maddy Pohusk (Sr.), Marah Quarles (Jr.), Ella Swartz (Jr.), Jane Bronson (Fr.), Kennedy Jones (Fr.), Mia Walters (Fr.)

¯ SEASON OUTLOOK: After qualifying as a team to the district last year, the Tigers look to build off that success with two returnees and many others looking to contribute. Howland is anchored by Ulrich.

Niles

¯ COACH: Abbey Chieffo (8th year)

¯ LEAGUE: Northeast-8

¯ POSTSEASON: Division I, Tamer Win Sectional

¯ RETURNING LETTERMEN (*-letters won): Miranda Bugos (Sr.) ***, Ryssa Coudriet (Jr.) **, Joslyn Marion (Sr.) *, Marissa Bugos (So.) *, Harper Sabatino (So.) *, Jenna Stevens (So.) *

¯ SEASON OUTLOOK: With six girls returning and six more joining, the Red Dragons are looking forward to make an impression on the season. The returning players have been practicing and the new players are showing athleticism and are expected to be positive additions to the roster.

Hubbard

¯ LEAGUE: Northeast-8

¯ POSTSEASON: Division II, Pine Lakes Sectional

¯ SEASON OUTLOOK: The Eagles qualified for the district the last two season and return four players. They look to keep working hard and believe they can compete for the conference title.

¯ POSTSEASON: Division I, Tamer Win Sectional

¯ RETURNING LETTERMEN (*-letters won): Hannah Logan ***, Cammille Hagan **, Hailey Logan *, Jensen Sahli *, Gianna Panzott *, Katelyn Long *

¯ SEASON OUTLOOK: The main focus for the Falcons this season is “improvement.” Coach Paris wants to see her girls beat their best scores from last year and see the team compete in the league. She thinks they’re capable and the team is striving for consistency.

Howland

¯ LEAGUE: All-American Conference

¯ POSTSEASON: Division I, Solon Sectional

¯ POSTSEASON: Division II, Boardman Sectional

¯ SEASON OUTLOOK: Stein will lead the team with her experience with two years of varsity experience and several years in the YTA League. The girls are excited for a challenging season.
