One of the best athletes to have graced the Formula One, Sebastian Vettel, bid goodbye to the game within the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix on Sunday. Driving the Aston Martin, Vettel completed on the tenth place on the leaderboard. While there isn’t any denying that the German would’ve needed to say a podium spot, there was a charismatic smile on his face as he drew curtains to his illustrious profession. At the top of the race, Vettel carried out the ‘doughnut’ to mesmerise followers.

Known because the ‘baby-faced murderer’ throughout his early days in Formula 1, Vettel is leaving an enormous legacy, having gained 4 consecutive Drivers’ Championship titles (from 2010 to 2013).

“The decision has been a difficult one for me to take and I have spent a lot of time thinking about it,” Vettel had stated forward of his remaining race.

“At the end of the year, I want to take some more time to reflect on what I will focus on next.

“It may be very clear to me that, being a father, I need to spend extra time with my household, however as we speak is just not about saying goodbye. Rather, it’s about saying thanks – to everybody – not least the followers, with out whose passionate help F1 couldn’t exist.”

As for the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, it was Max Verstappen who completed on the high of the rostrum, bagging his record-extending fifteenth win of the season.
