Who are these individuals, and what prompts them to do one thing that’s patently harmful, to themselves and to others? Radhika (Alaya F), a dogged intern at an area media home, begins investigating, and the entire thing snowballs right into a collection of unnatural deaths. Just what’s going on?

The movie is an official remake of Pawan Kumar’s Kannada-language ‘U Turn’ ( 2018), which was set in Bengaluru. Right from the primary scene when Shraddha Srinath who performs the trainee journalist character, is travelling together with her mom in an auto, bickering about stuff mums and daughters bicker about– careers, relationships, marriages– you get the sense of a spot. Streets, lingo, characters, all slot in.

That’s the primary jarring notice you uncover within the Hindi remake: Chandigarh has a really particular vibe, and construction, none of which is seen within the movie. The different is a narrative which, in its insistence on retaining the deal with the main woman, makes everybody else’s arcs sub-par. This ends in a movie unable to maintain a maintain on the viewer.

Pawan Kumar’s skill to meld the true and supernatural, which was clear in his cracking debut, ‘Lucia’, makes him a real unique. Even those that haven’t seen the Kannada movie will discover this one uneven: the supply materials is tight and twisty, so why make pointless modifications within the remake ? Except for one episode through which Alaya F comes off wanting suitably scared, even the other-worldly bits are flaky.

The colleague (Ashim Gulati) Radhika is comfortable on, the cop (Priyanshu Painyuli) who’s sympathetic to her trigger, the opposite policemen (Rajesh Sharma, Manu Rishi) who’re on the case, a homeless man who retains a pointy eye on the proceedings, all really feel flat and boring. As does the movie.
