Winter snacking in India is all about moongphali, rewari and chikki (gajak). Those with a candy tooth simply cannot cease munching on the candy and crunchy delight of chikki. Made with jaggery, peanuts, and typically, fennel seeds, chikki is present in each nook and cranny of the nation this time round. But what in case your favorite candy chikki is turned spicy and masaledaar? We have been as baffled as you should be now after we noticed a video of a road vendor promoting chaat made with chikki!

An Instagram web page referred to as ‘surti_lalo’ posted a video of this weird creation and referred to as it masala chikki chaat. The video reveals a road vendor making the chikki chaat and it left us speechless.

The vendor begins off by putting damaged chikki items on foil paper positioned neatly on 1 / 4 plate as the bottom of the chaat. Then he tops it with inexperienced chutney, chopped inexperienced onions, sev and crushed cornflakes. He sprinkles some lime juice and rounds it up with chaat masala, and serves it.

The chaat certain appears good however left us questioning about its style with the strange food combination of candy chikki and spicy chutneys and masala. Viewers weren’t glad both. Check out a few of the feedback posted on the video publish: 

“What is happening in the food zone? Chikki has to be sweet… what is the logic to make bhel or chaat of it? Please respect food authenticity.” 

“These stunts are performed under skilled artists. Do not try this at home. Stay alert, Stay safe.” 

“Tumhe sharam nai aai video banate hue? (Weren’t you embarrassed while making this video?)” 

“Pure chikki ki barbaadi” (Waste of all the chikki).
